Mural painting

So much has happened since I last talked to you.

In my role as Chair of the Cathedral of St Stephen Art Group I was asked to overseer a major mural project.

The cathedral was having it’s roof replaced which meant 6 months of ply boards surrounding it. The boards were quite bland and we were asked to jazz them up with a community mural.

So far we have painted about 60 meters! There were 2 Christmas murals and 2 Tree of Life murals, a logo for Caritas and a mural where the kindy kids helped out.  Local artists, members of the community and charity groups have all had a go. The murals have a beautiful spirit and will be adorning the cathedral surrounds until about May.

And even though the murals around the cathedral have ended the journey with murals continues as a few of us have decided we love it so much we will continue to do community wall painting. A new adventure…
